Who else can relate? These gadgets are simply not designed with inclusively in mind. I took off my Apple Watch to apply some hydrating hibiscus lotion due to winter dry skin and forgot to put it back on right away.
I made my usual morning, mid-morning, noon, and midday rounds visiting multiple coworker cubicles. To my horror, I realized during my 4pm circuit that I'd forgotten to put my watch back on.
My "Stand" achievement for the day is only 2 out of my goal of 6 and I won't even mention the uncounted steps! The worst part is, there is NO way to go back and edit the day's stand activity and get credit for those. This was almost a perfect month, too. On the positive side, my watch didn't see what happened to my pulse and blood pressure in the moment.
I still can't believe it's 2026 and we can't retroactively edit my Apple Watch Fitness data. I can't bear to share the screenshots. I may have to stand for a minute or two after dinner and hourly during Netflix. Sometimes the watch doesn't pickup my standing and I have to resort to pinwheeling my arms to register the movement. Sometimes thats a 2-3 minute commitment! Health tech is broken.
Hi Anna, sending positive vibes to help you through your fitness challenges. I see you and your feelings are valid. It's great that you're giving your health journey such focus. However, give yourself a little grace. You know you reached your Stand goal. Your body "knows" you reached your Stand Goal. We know that you know your body knows you reached your Stand Goal. That's what really counts.
PS, consider using the Breathing app. It can really help cleanse the spirit at times like these.
Anna, if it means that much to you, I think you can actually go into the Health app on your iPhone, and manually add a 1-2 minute workout to help maintain a streak. I hope this helps.
This is perfect! Thank you Pat. Do you know how far back it goes? I'd like to add and share Cycle Tracking for prior years, too.
I haven't explored that option.
